The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Security to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing retail stores security operations across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with our relevant procedures, and evaluating the industry’s best practices to upgrade our equipment, systems, and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Identify and assess risks to store operations and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Regularly update security measures to address emerging threats and technological advancements.
- Manage and control budgets for security operations, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor and report on inventory differences and security incidents.
- Work with various departments to integrate security requirements into business processes.
- Conduct regular security audits and inspections to ensure adherence to protocols.
- Conduct investigations of security incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Propose and evaluate new security technologies and methodologies to enhance security measures.
- Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve the effectiveness of security operations.
- Continuously seek improvements based on performance data.
- Recruit, train, and manage security personnel to maintain a high standard of performance and professionalism.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in a security management role, ideally within retail or a multi-site organization.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of current security technologies, methodologies and compliance standards.
- Ability to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies.
- Familiarity with budget management and resource allocation.
- Hands-on experience with security systems (e.g., CCTV, alarm systems) and training personnel.
- University Degree in a relevant field will consider an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and oral
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing business processes
