ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, a company that provides Managed and IT Services in Enterprise clients, is seeking for an experienced Database Administrator (SQL Server)
Workplace Location: Hybrid work model on Company's locations (Athens, Thessaloniki) OR Client's site
What you will be doing:
You will be part of the Engineering team and you be involved in the successful delivery of the company’s projects to Enterprise clients
More specifically you will:
- Perform installation and configuration of database software, including setting up server instances, database engines, and related components
- Monitor the performance of the database system, identify bottlenecks, and optimize the database for efficient operations, including query optimization, index tuning, and performance troubleshooting
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery
- Manage database security by implementing access controls, user permissions including user authentication and authorization processes and encryption to protect sensitive data
- Contribute to database design schemas, tables, and relationships to ensure data integrity and optimize data storage, by working closely with application vendors, developers and data architects
- Analyze database growth patterns, estimate future storage requirements, and plan for scalability, including partitioning and clustering techniques to handle increasing data volumes
- Perform database upgrades, apply patches and fixes to ensure the stability and security of the database system
- Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as data corruption, connectivity problems, or performance degradation using analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, including reports on database performance, security, and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure smooth database operations providing support and assistance to application teams, addressing their database-related needs
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation in support of production issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science preferred or related field
- 2+ years of experience in DB Admin tasks in Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability to manage multiple competing tasks simultaneously and complete work within allocated timeframes
- Team player with problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn, adapt, communicate, and organize
- Customer focused with attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
